All We Ever Wanted

A documentary about the subject of depression & social peer pressure amongst young adults

Wiro Felix

In contemporary society, the possibilities are seemingly endless, you always know what is going on in the world, and there is always someone telling you how fast and successful others are. Yet apparently there is a downside to it. Stress can take its toll.

Emiel, a commercial director and tattoo artist, had to cope with severe panic attacks. Niki, a fashion designer, has been on antidepressants for some time now. Daniel, a recent art school graduate and illustrator, deals with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

In All We Ever Wanted, filmmaker Sarah Mathilde Domogala combines interview excerpts with quickly edited footage of her subjects at home and work, intercut with meetings and parties – in short, a stylish slice of urban existence.

‘All we ever wanted’ received a lot of attention from the media and is the source for many discussions about the subject of depression, pressure and all the problems of young adults in our western society.

Co-production with Mint film and broadcasted by VPRO.

Sarah Mathilde Domogala is currently writing a book about this topic.
