Many Surinamese words are being used in the street language of Rotterdam. Because of the merging languages, many Surinamese words are known by a large part of the Rotterdamse population – showing how culture and customs mix in urban life. Marwan Magroun and Meryem Slimani, in collaboration with the World Museum, chart the collection between culture and fashion with their photo series Krosi — what translates as clothing in Surinamese.
